Chocolate Cafe

Chocolate Cafe (located behind the Taco Bell in the strip mall at Monte Vista and Girard) is one of my favorite destinations for a delicious breakfast burrito. Why, you ask, do I go to a place that specializes in chocolate for a breakfast burrito? Because their burritos are magical. Their chocolate is also tasty. But chocolate is not what I dream about from them. Their amazing burritos, stuffed with potatoes, eggs and meat of choice (bacon), and then smothered in chile, is what I dream of. And crave. Often.

That said, they do make killer desserts and I highly recommend their Boston Cream Pie, mousses, and cookies.

For a non-dessert (but equally sinful) treat, try their chocolate raspberry pancakes. They actually come with chocolate ganache to drizzle on top...not your normal butter and syrup. You'll want a huge glass of water- or, even better, milk- to accompany them...these babies are rich!

Chocolate Cafe also has a large selection of standard breakfast fare and soups/salads/sandwiches for lunch. They always have daily specials, and they're often quite cheap. Again, this is a restaurant with slightly slower service. However, it's usually due to the fact that only one server is working...and she's usually working hard. Unlike the Standard, you can come to Chocolate Cafe for a quick lunch, and it will be delicious.
